Synergia originates from the old Greek word for co-operation. This co-operation is what Synergia Capital Partners's formula revolves around: The combining of strengths between the company and investors and between labour and capital. This idea is depicted in Synergia Capital Partners's logo: Gamma.
Founded in 1999, Synergia Capital Partners is an investment company and established in Veenendaal, the Netherlands. Its capital is raised by entrepreneurs who know Dutch trade and industry inside out from their own experience. The employees are experienced investors. With their financial, legal and tax knowledge and years-long experience in carrying out transactions, they also play an important role.
Synergia Capital Partners manages three funds with a total committed capital totalling 125 million Euros.
Between 1999 and 2003 the first fund of Synergia Capital Partners, with a total committed capital of 20 million Euros, invested in approximately 10 companies spread over different industries. Of the total invested capital over 60% is invested in the so-called traditional industries and roughly 40% in ICT companies. In the mean time the majority of the portfolio companies has successfully been divested and an excellent net return has been realised for the shareholders.
In 2003 Synergia Capital Partners started its second fund with a total committed fund capital of 45 million Euros. The proven and successful concept of the first fund has been applied again, the only difference being the larger average deal size of investments in the second fund.
Between 2003 and 2008 the second fund invested in companies spread over different industries. Owing to a balanced investment policy it has been possible to compose a portfolio with a fair market value considerably higher than the invested capital. Besides, several exists have already been realised.
Halfway 2008 Synergia Capital Partners started its third fund. The total committed fund capital amounts to 60 million Euros.
Synergia Capital Partners is member of the Dutch Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (Dutch abbreviation: NVP).
